Four City of Danville employees were recognized at the recent Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce's Annual Awards Dinner for graduates of the Leadership Southside Class of 2024.
Recognized were Janet Davis, Lori Flanigan, Savannah Lind, and Beth Shackelford. Davis is the key accounts manager in the Utilities Department. Flanigan is the procurement officer in the purchasing division of the Finance Department. Lind is a business partner in the Human Resources Department. Shackelford is the senior administrative assistant in the Police Department.
They were among 33 graduates from the region who completed the 10-month leadership development program for the business, education, public and nonprofit sectors.
With this year’s 31st graduating class, Leadership Southside has more than 580 alumni. Applications are open now for the 2024-2025 program year. Those interested can apply at www.dpchamber.org/leadershipsouthside. Applications are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, June 28. Only completed applications will be considered.
The Chamber has contracted with Rachel Covington to lead and facilitate the program. She previously served as the senior director of member services for the Chamber and led Leadership Southside as part of her role.
