Four new officers were pinned by family members during a ceremony Thursday, Sept. 26, at the Danville Police Department in the multipurpose room.
Family, friends, and members of the police department watched as Officers David A Guido Flores, William G. Headley, Michael K. Pollard, and Charles G. Setliff were presented their badges and took the oath of office. Not present Thursday was Officer Lucas C. Reese.
The officers took the oath of honor from Chief Chris Wiles, and the oath of office from Mistress of Ceremonies Beth Shackelford.
Thursday’s swearing-in ceremony was the third to be held at 1 Community Way since the Department moved to the new headquarters in August 2022.
Chief Wiles and Deputy Chief Tim Jones presented the recruits with their badges. Chaplain Bryant Booth gave the invocation and benediction during the ceremony. Deputy Chief Jones also recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
