The City of Danville will host the third annual Southern Virginia Regional Housing Summit, on October 24, at the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research, 150 Slayton Avenue, Danville, from 8:30am – 3:30pm.
The summit will aim to spark new residential housing in the region, including Halifax, Henry, Patrick and Pittsylvania County and Danville and Martinsville city. Developers, builders, contractors, home renovators, financial institution representatives, architects, and community advocates are encouraged to attend.
This full-day event will feature presentations on local and state financial resources, regional opportunities for development, success stories of housing growth across the region, and an exhibit hall.
“We are looking forward to an exciting day of meaningful connections and collaboration for partners across the region,” said Division Director of Housing and Development, City of Danville, Susan McCulloch. “This summit is a testament to the tremendous growth we are experiencing throughout Southern Virginia, as new jobs are created, new businesses are launched, and new residents establish their homes here. We are excited to not only highlight local success stories, but to also join with partners from six localities to advance our housing landscape.”
This year’s keynote speaker is Greta Harris, Better Housing Coalition President and CEO. Ryan Price, Chief Economist of the Virginia Association of Realtors, will deliver remarks on the housing market in Virginia and the region, and Sherrie Armstrong, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Community Foundation for a Greater Richmond, will discuss economic mobility in housing.
