Two men have been charged with an armed robbery that occurred at the Joy Food Store on Riverside Drive on 01-12-11.
Shortly before 10:00 pm on 01-12-11 an employee of the Joy Food Store reported that two males entered the business. One of the men produced a handgun and demanded all the money from the register. The employee gave the man an undisclosed amount of money before both males fled the scene on foot. Investigators and Crime Scene Search Unit Personnel responded to the scene. The investigation led to charges being brought against Johnathan Sinclair Voaklander, age 19 of Danville for robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and brandishing. He was arrested on 01-13-11 and is currently being held in the Danville City Jail under no bond.
Further investigation led to charges being brought against Cornelius O'Neal Carter, age 23 of Danville for robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and brandishing. He was arrested on 02-03-11 and is currently being held in the Danville City Jail under no bond.
