Police arrest a man who stabbed hotel employee
Danville Police arrested a man who stabbed a hotel employee this afternoon after a confrontation erupted between the two.
Officers were called to the 2900 block of W. Main Street after a passerby called 911 about a man standing on the side of the road waving a knife. When officers arrived, they found the victim who had been injured and apprehended the suspect before he was able to leave the scene.
Officers arrested 30-year-old Rahim T. Lee of Danville and charged him with malicious wounding. The victim was a 40-year-old Danville man who was taken by ambulance to the hospital where he was being treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators learned Lee was staying at the Travel Inn located on W. Main Street where the victim was employed. There was a confrontation between the two during which time Lee stabbed the victim.
The passerby who originally called 911 should be commended for their willingness to “see something and say something” that got officers dispatched quickly.
