The Danville Police Department is canceling some community engagement activities.
The Danville Police Department will continue to provide full law enforcement services to our community. We have prepared response readiness plans and we continue to communicate with local health professionals and our city leaders regarding COVID-19.
However, based on best practices outlined by our state and local leaders, we are canceling or postponing several community engagement events over the next few weeks. These events include the following:
- March 17 Community Engagement Walk-canceled
- March 19 Community Meeting at Mount Sinai Glorious Church of God-canceled
- March 31-May 19 Citizen Police Academy-postponed
The department is also suspending public fingerprinting for background checks through March 29.
We will continue to monitor the situation and announce the rescheduled dates for some of these events in the future.
