Danville Police are investigating an overnight shooting that left one man seriously injured.
Shortly after midnight, police responded to a 911 call that someone had been shot in the 1600 block of North Main Street. Officers found a 36-year-old man outside with several gunshot wounds and they quickly rendered life-saving first aid.
As detectives worked through the night, they learned the shooting happened in the 200 block of Bradley Road. The evidence indicates the shooter and victim knew one another and this was an isolated incident. The circumstances that led to the shooting are still being pieced together, but police have identified the shooter and their information will be released when it becomes appropriate.
The Danville Lifesaving Crew transported the victim from the scene and he was airlifted to Duke University Hospital in serious condition.
