Danville Police charged Joshua Allen in connection with an ongoing drug investigation involving a potentially fatal overdose.
On November 27 a family member called 911 to report they found a family member unresponsive. EMS transported the victim, a 29-year-old female, to the hospital where she died.
Investigators and crime scene officers immediately began an investigation. The evidence indicated that Allen distributed heroin to the victim and her death was likely a result of the drug use. Therefore, investigators charged Allen, age 36, of Danville with the distribution of a controlled substance.
Allen turned himself into police on December 2 and was released on bond.
Danville Police and the Commonwealth Attorney’s will review potential future charges once the medical examiner’s report is complete. Danville Police will not release the victim’s name until the medical examiner confirms the cause of death.
This death was one of the three deaths mentioned in the December 4 media release that happened since November 27.
