This afternoon, our law enforcement partners with the Winston Salem Police Department located and arrested 24-year-old Andrew Jovanni Menjivar for the charge of second degree murder from Tuesdays homicide of 29-year-old Brandon Alexander Gore. He will now face extradition back to Danville to face trial.
The search for Menjivar was a team effort between Danville Police Department investigators with both the Greensboro and Winston Salem Police Department's since Tuesday. The search was aided with the help of concerned citizens throughout the investigation, who should be applauded. We would like to thank those law enforcement agencies for being great partners along with there tireless dedication to locating Andrew Jovanni Menjivar for this violent incident.

The Danville Police Department is asking citizens to help locate 24-year-old Andrew Jovanni Menjivar who has officially been charged with second degree murder in the killing of Brandon Alexander Gore yesterday at the apartment complex located at 1575 Richmond Blvd.
Investigators no longer believe Andrew Jovanni Menjivar to be on foot in the area of the homicide or nearby neighborhoods. He has a reported address in Winston Salem, NC and associations in other areas including Greensboro, NC. Andrew Menjivar was armed when he left the apartment complex, and still may be, so anyone knowing his whereabouts is asked to call 911 and notify local authorities of his location without confronting him.
This is still an active and ongoing investigation, but no other suspects are being sought or believed to be involved in this incident.

At 9:31 AM, the Danville Police Department responded to the apartment complex at 1575 Richmond Blvd for a call of a man being shot outside of an apartment. Officers located a 29-year-old Danville resident, Brandon Alexander Gore, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound in the breezeway of the K building.
The person of interest in this case has been identified as 24-year-old Andrew Jovanni Menjivar. The belief is Menjivar left the apartment complex on foot, still in possession of a handgun wearing a white tank top style t-shirt. Police are actively searching for Andrew Menjivar at this time, including the use of a trained K9 for tracking.
The early investigation shows the deceased and the suspect were acquaintance's and this was not a random act, nor does it have any gang related nexus.
The Danville Police Department is asking anyone who knows the whereabouts of Andrew Menjivar or may have seen him moving around this morning to contact the Danville Police Department by calling 911. Although no direct threat to the public is known, the police department would ask citizens to contact 911 and avoid direct contact should they encounter Menjivar as he may still be armed.
Crime scene and investigators are actively working the crime scene and further updates will be released when they are available.
