At approximately 4:19 PM, the Danville Police Department responded to the 300 block of Halifax Street for calls of shots fired. Officers located a male victim suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound(s) to his upper body. The victim was pronounced non-viable by first responders. We have a preliminary identification of the victim. We are working to confirm the identification and to locate and notify next of kin. Danville Police Department officers, investigators, and crime scene technicians are on scene and a full-scale investigation is underway. No suspect information is available for release at this time. The investigation is still ongoing and active.
Residents of the Halifax Street community and surrounding areas who may have any video surveillance cameras are asked to contact the Danville Police Department through any of the platforms listed below.
