The Danville Police Department is investigating a fatal single vehicle crash on the U.S. 58 exit towards Martinsville, Va. off West Main Street.
Kevin Mark Spendley, 29, of Greer, S.C. was found in an overturned 2016 Hyundai Elantra Wednesday, Jan. 11. He was not wearing a seatbelt, and there was no evidence of the use of alcohol.
Spendley was reported missing on Monday, Dec. 9, in another jurisdiction.
A Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office deputy found Spendley at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Because of the proximity of the incident scene to the city and county line, it was determined the incident occurred in the City of Danville.
A dog was also found at the scene, and was taken by Animal Control to the Danville Area Humane Society. The dog was reunited with the family after being notified.
