The Danville Police Department has made two arrests following a shooting incident that occurred Tuesday, Oct. 24.
Christopher Demond Wade, 18, was arrested and charged with attempted malicious wounding for his role in the shooting incident.
Zakeyis Avio’n Womack, 19, was arrested and charged with attempted malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, shooting from a moving vehicle, shooting across a roadway, reckless handling of a firearm, shooting in a public place, and malicious damage.
Wade and Womack are currently being held in the Danville City Jail under no bond.
Around 1 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to the 1100 block of Franklin Turnpike in reference to a shots fired incident. No one was injured, and at this time nothing appears to have been struck by gunfire. The center turn lane and left southbound lanes of Franklin Turnpike were blocked during the investigation.
The GMC SUV used during the incident was recovered by the police department Tuesday afternoon.
