Danville Police Seeking Public Assistance
On December 23, 2023, at approximately 6:43PM, the Danville Police Department responded to the apartment complex located at 1321 Piney Forest Rd. in reference to a gunshot victim. A 16-year-old male, Danville resident, suffered a non-life threatening wound to his lower arm and was transported for medical treatment.
Prior to the shooting, the victim was walking on the property at 1321 Piney Forest Rd from the direction of Maplewood Drive, interacted with two black male teen suspects, then shots were fired after the interaction. The two black male suspects fled on foot in the direction of Piney Forest Rd.
The Danville Police Department has completed an initial investigation including searching the areas of Piney Forest Rd, Maplewood Drive, and 1321 Piney Forest Rd for video surveillance footage. The police department is now requesting anyone in the area of 1321 Piney Forest Rd, Maplewood Drive, and Piney Forest Rd who may have video surveillance from Saturday evening, December 23, 2023, between 6:20PM and 6:50PM to please contact the Danville Police Department through any platform.
This incident does not appear to be a random act nor an ongoing threat to the community.
