On July 19, 2024, at approximately 9:56 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call of shots being fired at a residence in the 1500 block of Halifax Rd. Once on scene, officers discovered a 40-year-old Ringgold resident suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. While on scene, a 19-year-old male and 20-year-old female, both from Danville, arrived at SOVAH Danville emergency room with non-life threatening gunshot wounds that occurred at the same incident.
The investigation revealed that a private party, including multiple hired security officers, was taking place at the residence where the shooting incident occurred. The 40-year-old victim was a security officer and the other victims were attending the party. It appears shots were fired from a vehicle near the residence which resulted in the three individuals being struck.
Three victims were treated for injuries sustained during the shooting incident.
The Department wishes to thank the Eden Police Department for their assistance in the apprehension of Knowles.
